The most bizarre (at least initially) news item on the BBC a couple of days ago was (a) Bill Clinton praising a building project in (b) London’s dowdy Elephant and Castle area (c) while in Seoul. What was the former president doing in Korea talking about one of London’s least loved tube stations?
We discover that there’s been a green summit in Seoul this week, organised by the Clinton Climate Initiative. And London’s Mayor Boris was there, along with representatives from 39 other cities. Clinton was highlighting the green credentials of the Elephant development.
While there, Boris Johnson took the opportunity to visit Seoul’s Olympic park to see if there were any lessons for London’s 2012 games, and had dinner with Seoul’s mayor.
