Striking over-sized suit jackets stole the limelight at Vauxhall Fashion Scout as Kingston University MA fashion student Eunjin Oh revealed her latest womenswear range.

The 25-year-old designer’s London Fashion Week collection entitled ‘A woman confined’ was inspired by a startling image she saw in a book by Iranian artist Shirin Neshat, who’s work challenges stereotypes of Muslim women. Korean-born Eunjin used the strong masculine silhouettes of her black and grey tailored jackets to represent feelings of being physically or psychologically trapped. Her boyfriend blazers were styled with slim black trousers and sheer black shirts.

“After seeing the picture of a woman entwined around a tree I became fascinated by how she might be feeling,” Eunjin, from Seoul, said. “I wanted my new collection to provoke people to explore the psychological shells they build for themselves.”
