A showcase of Ensemlbe SINAWI, a fusion band combining traditional Korean folk music and Pansori with a contemporary edge to create a sound that is entirely new. Authentic Korean sounds are juxtaposed in the context of chamber-jazz to create new and authentically Korean improvisational musical forms – an extraordinary new form of traditional music for the 21st century
Part 2 – Workshop and Conversation
After the showcase the members demonstrate traditional Korean instruments such as Gayageum and Janggu, and have a Q&A session with the audience led by Professor Keith Howard of the Music department of SOAS, University of London
