Yesterday the British Council were in Pyongyang signing a letter of understanding on English teaching and teacher training, according to KCNA. The DPRK’s press operation is clearly quick off the mark, as there’s nothing on the British Council website about this yet.
To be honest, I’m not sure what’s new here, as the British Council told us at one of their tours of Nick Danziger’s exhibition that they had been training English teachers in North Korea for a while. But I guess a formal agreement is a sign that this will continue.
Separately, earlier this week on 23 June a delegation from the Royal United Services Institute was in town.
