This year, Delfina Foundation – a London-based organisation that promotes artistic exchange and experimentation – announced a new partnership with SongEun Art & Cultural Foundation for an annual residency for Korean artists through SongEun’s network of activities. Jaebum Kim is the first Korean artist to benefit from this new partnership.

With an interest in the mechanisms of violence within society, Jaebum Kim’s work involves reconstructions of ready-made images, often reminiscent of those in the media.
Recently Jaebum has been focusing on the multi-layered mechanisms and structures of economics from a variety of perspectives. During his time at Delfina Foundation, Jaebum employed new images of London’s financial district as a means to visualise the neoliberal landscape.
Jaebum obtained his BA Photography from Korea Shingu College (2006). He has participated in the 2009 Asian Art Biennial, Taiwan and Morality, a project at Witte de With Center for Contemporary Art, Rotterdam. In 2012 he was awarded the Sindoh Artist Support Program Grant in Korea.
He lives and works in Seoul, South Korea.
