Event news: Talk & See with Hwang Sun-mi

A lovely book, and a charming film – though obviously the author prefers the original. Hwang Sun-mi will be on hand to discuss both this Sunday at a talk and screening.

Leafie

We are delighted to invite you to a special talk and screening with Hwang Sun-mi, the author of the international bestseller The Hen Who Dreamed She Could Fly, My Blue Bicycle, Invited Friends and many more. Not only winning many awards including Poland’s ‘The Best Book of the Year’ in 2012 and ‘The Best Book of the Month’ by Amazon in 2013, The Hen Who Dreamed She Could Fly was sold over a million copies internationally and attracted over 2 million viewers for the animated film adaptation of the work “Leafie, A Hen Into the Wild”.

The Hen who Dreamed she could Fly

An anthem for freedom, individuality and self-determination, the novel depicts universal resonance, which, with its array of animal characters calls to mind such classics as Animal Farm and Charlotte’s Web.
