Windrush Day 2019 is a celebration of the generations of migrants who have come to the UK, with a day of free performances, workshops, tours and much more suitable for the whole family. The programme of events includes a dance performance by Sung Im Her, Jin Han Choi and Hae Yeon Lim. It’s not 100% clear whereabouts exactly the performance is, but I heard it’s likely to be First floor, the great globe.
Windrush and beyond: Celebrating You, Me and Those Who Came Before
22 June 2019 | 11am – 4pm
National Maritime Museum | Romney Road | Greenwich | London SE10 9NF
by Sung Im Her: 14:20 – 14:45
Performers: Sung Im Her | Jin Han Choi | Hae Yeon Lim
“Human Wall” by Sung Im Her is a dance performance which comments on the fact that isolation is major part of contemporary life, exacerbated by technology, how we live in modern urban environments and also by our attitudes towards outsiders. As a migrant herself, Sung Im Her is particularly interested in the barriers between and within people that create feelings of isolation.
