What if two seemingly unrelated worlds are brought together by a powerful wave? Join Federica Ionta as she reflects on the intersection of art and entertainment looking at the spread in popularity of all things Korean, a phenomenon known as the ‘Korean Wave’. She will explore how popular culture has brought Korean traditional art in front of an international audience and why this is just as powerful as it is, perhaps, unexpected.

Federica Ionta has been working at the V&A for over five years, most recently as a member of the Brand Licensing team. Her experience also includes working in a London-based Korean art gallery and writing for various outlets, including the V&A blog and London Korean Links. She holds a Master’s degree in Media and Communications and a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture.
