Moon Kook-Hyun ran for president of South Korea in 2007 as the leader of the Renewal of Korea Party. Before entering his political career, he served as president and CEO of Yuhan-Kimberly and was group president of Kimberly Clark of US in North Asia. Moon, who successfully steered his company through the Asian financial crisis in the mid 1990s with his innovative workplace reform, was placed among the most respected entrepreneurs in Korean history alongside the founders of Hyundai and Samsung groups in a recent poll. Mr Moon is a high profile speaker who has presented at Cambridge, MIT and the Word Economic Forum. He was elected to the National Assembly in 2008, serving until 2009, and is currently the president of the New Paradigm Institute, an economics think-tank in Seoul.
