Dr Beccy Kennedy talks about her research on artists from South Korea working in Britain and aritists Beomsik Won, Jungyun Roh and Luna Jungeun Lee talk about their practice.

Dr Beccy Kennedy is a lecturer in Contemporary Art History at Manchester School of Art. The title of her thesis was “Picturing Migration: Presenting Artworks by South Korean artists working in Britain: 2006-2008.”

Beomsik Won is a masters student in Fine Art at the Slade School of Fine Art (2012). He received an MFA in Photography from Honglk University (200B) and BFA in Metalwork and Jewelry from Kookmin University in Seoul (1998). He has held 2 solo exhibitions including ‘Dimension Finder’ (2008) Gallery Lux, Seoul and participated in various group exhibitions.

Jungyun Roh received an MA in Fine Arts from Chelsea College of Arts and design. London (2011) and an MFA and BFA in Painting from Hongik University, Seoul (2008, 2011). She has been in various exhibitions in London and Seoul including ‘ID. Please’ (2012) New Gallery London and ‘Seogyo Hanjang’ (2009), Gallery Sangsangmadang, Seoul.

Luna Jungeun Lee graduated with an MFA in Fine Art from Goldsmiths University of London (2011) and received a BFA Fine Art from Kookmin University, Seoul in 2009. She held a solo exhibition ‘Transition Point’ at The Orchard Centre, Sheffield, UK (2012) and participated in various exhibitions in the UK and Korea. She is an artist in residence at The Florence Trust, FT 12 Residency, London.
