Choi Jeong Hwa

Throughout the Korean Festival, world renowned installation artist Choi Jeong Hwa takes over The Coronet Theatre with Tiger, Journey, Love – a major exhibition of his work, using our historic home in a way you’ve never seen before.

Choi Jeong Hwa’s work is hard to resist. Dealing with mass production, materialism and consumption culture, he uses ordinary day-to-day objects found in Korea to explore how art can be encountered in everyday life. His lively, colourful, large-scale, inflatable pieces will cover the facade of the building offering a riotous explosion of colour. Experience his visionary art up close and personal within our unique Victorian theatre as an extensive collective of his works are exhibited throughout the building.

On selected dates there will be an option to join us for a special guided tour of both Choi Jeong Hwa’s exhibition and the history of The Coronet Theatre. On these exclusive tours you will experience the spaces of our Grade 2 listed theatre like never before
