Well, I’ve been going for slightly longer than a year, but 9 April 2006 was when I first tentatively launched the site on its current WordPress platform. The original idea came to me in early February, and I started writing the permanent pages on 16 February. After a brief trial in my personal webspace which came with my broadband package, LKL first appeared on 1 March 2006. For loyal readers who’ve been with me from the start, thanks for staying with me. For the nostalgic, here’s what the site looked like in its former incarnation on Microsoft Publisher, before we converted to WordPress.
Will I have the energy to keep going another year? Who knows. This site is taking up more and more time, and I’ve had to drop some of my other extra-curricular activities to make space for it. Unfortunately one of those activities is going to the gym, which means I’m gaining weight as I sit at my screen.
Happy Birthday LKL, and thanks Philip for a year of salvation from London-Korean information starvation. Long may it continue, even if we all have to pitch in for bariatrics surgery. Hurrah!
Happy birthday! I think this is a valuable resource so I hope you keep it going.
