Walking from SOAS to the KCC yesterday to mark the book launch of Lee Yil’s selected writings I came across a new venture from the Korean street food chain On the Bab. At 1 Monmouth Street, Covent Garden, is their new foray into KFC, On the Dak, bringing different flavours of fried chicken with kimchi and other side dishes. Chicken mandu and noodle dishes are also available. Sadly, the outlet has no licence yet, so chimaek is not on the menu.

The cafe has been open since February. Also in the same organisation managed by Linda Lee is the reliable fusion BBQ restaurant Koba (in Rathbone Street W1) and the minimarket / cafe Mee Market (Archer Street, W1).

Mee Market opened at the beginning of December last year. LKL paid a quick visit during its “soft opening” weekend and took a couple of photos which we never got around to posting, so here they are now:
