Yong Min Cho

Body Language Artist Yong Min Cho will create an installation and movement pieces in a corner shop space as part of Outside In.

Each day an object from The Coronet Theatre will be chosen and placed in the corner space. Yong Min Cho will develop a movement piece by focussing and interacting with this object during a daily performance. The objects will stay in the corner shop space throughout the period resulting in an installation of the 9 objects on the final day of the festival.

Studied architecture in South Korea, scenography at the Brera Academy of Fine Art in Milan and dance at the Civica Scuola di Teatro Paolo Grassi in Milan. Then he had a scholarship at the Venice Dance Biennale where he worked with Carolyn Carson. Since 2005, he has been living and working in London realising projects in the UK, Europe and South Korea.

Yong Min enjoys collaborative work with other artists – sensitively responding and articulating through his movements the essence of the art works.

He has worked with Shelagh Wakely, Sarah Kent, Jefferd Horrigan, Annie Ratti, Fiorella Rizzo, Johanna Grawunder, Nathalie Du Pasquier, Liliane Ljin, Antoni Malinowski.

He has performed at The Dulwich Picture Gallery, Asia House, Korean Cultural Center UK, Ragged School Museum, Assab One Milan, Richard Saltoun Gallery, Camden Arts Centre, Cini Foundation Venice and many other places.
