- Footballer Ki Sung-yueng, to actress Han Hye-jin. A clue to their relationship was given when Han’s initials were spotted on Ki’s football boots.

- Pop diva Lee Hyori to former Roller Coaster bassist Lee Sang Soon
- Rock singer Seo Taiji to actress Lee Eun-sung
Deaths
- Novellist Choi In-ho died of cancer on 25 September, aged 68
- Sandglass director Kim Jong-hak committed suicide on 23 July, aged 62. He died of asphyxiation from yeontan briquette fumes.
- Green Chair director Park Chul-soo was killed by a drunk driver on 19 February, aged 64
