The Scottish Centre for Korean Studies has announced its November series of lectures. I’ve yet to find a web page where details in good old-fashioned text can be found, but poster images are posted on their Facebook page, where you can also find registration links for the Zoom meetings.
This month we have:
- Wed 10 Nov, 10:00 – 11:30: Dr Hyung-A Kim of Australian National University talks on the theme of her book Korean Skilled Workers: Toward a Labor Aristocracy
- Wed 17 Nov, 11:00 – 12:30: Dr Hyug Baeg Im, professor emeritus at Korea University, talks on the subject of his book Democratization and Democracy in Korea, 1960 – present
- Wed 24 Nov, 11:00 – 12:30: Dr An Sonjae (Brother Anthony) of Sogang University talks on the subject of Kim Seung-hee’s Hope is Lonely, which he translated
What a shame that Brother Anthony’s talk overlaps with Anton Hur’s discussion with Sang Young Park on the subject of Love in the Big City.
Is it possible to attend any of the lectures on zoom to avoid unnecessary travel?
Hi Sara – you’re too quick for me. I realised after posting that I hadn’t included the zoom meeting details. Post now updated. Visit their Facebook page for zoom registration links as and when they become available.
Fabulous, thank you!
