Hangul Celluloid content is now available on LKL

Three months ago Hangul Celluloid‘s Paul Quinn made the shock announcement that he was going to close down his site, taking it offline today, 23 March. He also extended an invitation:

So, for those of you who still feel there’s stuff worth grabbing from there, grab it now… ‘coz when it’s gone, it’s gone…

And like many admirers of his site, I thought that it would be a shame if all his invaluable reviews, interviews and essays were to be lost from the primary web, only to be available if you know where to look on the Wayback Machine. So, with Paul’s support I spent most of January and February this year, well, grabbing his stuff. All of it, apart from his news section – which by its nature was ephemeral and where there was a certain amount of overlap with LKL’s content.

So, you can continue to browse all of Paul’s 252 reviews, 68 interviews (including group interviews), 5 essays and his Korea Joa travelogue on this site. All his content has his familiar Hangul Celluloid banner at the top of the page, for those of you who are nostalgic for the Hangul Celluloid look and feel. There’s a home page from where you can navigate to all his articles, which have also been tagged with LKL’s taxonomy terms so that they are fully integrated will the existing content on this site. Any direct links you have to individual reviews or articles on Hangul Celluloid will automatically redirect to the relevant page on LKL. This redirection will last for the next 12 months, giving you the chance to update your links if you so wish.

Thanks, Paul, for the great service you have provided to followers of Korean film over the years. And thanks for the trust you have shown in letting me host your work.
