Discovering Korean Cinema book launch at the KCC

For those keen to find out more about Korean film there’s an interesting talk, together with a book launch, at the KCC on Tuesday 23 November. Three distinguished speakers: Daniel Martin will be chairing the panel and giving a brief talk on the history of the LKFF, Mark Morris will be talking about War films, and Jinhee Choi about Gangster cinema.

On Tuesday 23rd Nov at 6pm the Korean Cultural Centre UK is proud to host a symposium to discuss Korean Cinema and its importance. The event will also mark the launch of the Discovering Korean Cinema booklet featuring articles by some of the top Korean cinema educators working in the field today. These lecturers will also be on hand to discuss and expand on the topics covered in the booklet such as the effect and portrayal of the Korean War in film and the role of Korean blockbusters in the world marketplace. Some of the contributors will be attending to further discuss the topics raised in the publication.

This is an excellent opportunity for anyone interested in Korean film to learn more about this incredibly rich cinema and talk with the foremost experts today. The symposium will be followed by a reception.
