We hear that up to ten Korean authors could be in town for the London Book Fair 2014. And the first name to be confirmed, in a London Book Fair press release issued last week, and reported further in the Korea Times, is Hwang Sun-mi, author of The Hen Who Dreamed She Could Fly, which has been turned into a full length animation feature under the name of Leafie, a Hen into the Wild (2010) (which LKL rather liked).

“I’m honored to be invited to the London Book Fair. This is a surprising and exciting time in my life. Sometimes it is hard to believe that this is my life, and the news that I will be standing in the middle of The London Book Fair is even more difficult to believe. I feel as if I am standing behind a closed door; I’m afraid of what may be on the other side, and my heart is leaping. I’m sure this will be an unforgettable experience!” said Hwang in the press release.

London Book Fair 2014, at which Korea is the Focus Country, is 8-10 April 2014 at Earls Court. More coverage of the story on KTlit.com.
