Who Ate All the Squid? Football Adventures in South Korea

Who Ate All the Squid? The book by Devon Rowcliffe puts a new spin on the old football chant, and chronicles the season Ian Porterfield, a former Chelsea manager and Sunderland FA Cup legend, took charge of a struggling South Korean football club. Can he revitalise the team by luring a trio of players with Premier League experience out to East Asia? Can the Brits adapt to life in Korea as they battle personal demons?

Devon Rowcliffe has written about Korean football for the Korea TimesWorld Football Pages and Vancouver Sun, and has been interviewed about the sport by Televisa Deportes, CBC Radio One, COPA90 and VICE. He spent a year travelling across the Korean peninsula to watch K League matches with Busan I’cons FC supporters. He is a columnist who writes football opinion and political commentary, and he holds a master’s degree in Asian studies.
