In February 2017, a new short story by Jeong Han-ah, an artist who has been depicting life with a warm and delicate gaze, was published as the seventeenth edition of the K-Fiction series. “Halloween” follows a mysterious woman who is an astrologer and tarot card master who listens to the voices of the living and the dead and cares for their past and future, and the protagonist, who has been living a life that is alive but not as dead, is moving forward again. As the protagonist begins to consider the pain and stories of others, the way they move forward with the bond of suffering reminds us of the fate of human beings and the affirmation of life that even after the great loss of the death and separation of a loved one, we can and should rise and start again with pain.
